The U.S. Coast Guard rescued 13 people on Monday night after reports that a boat was taking on water off the coast of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. The Coast Guard sent out two vessels and a helicopter to locate and rescue the people aboard the 106-foot motor yacht, named Serena III, officials said. The vessel’s occupants were picked up and taken aboard a Sentinel-class cutter, the Margaret Norvell. They were taken to the Coast Guard station in Miami Beach. No one was injured, the Coast Guard said.
